Basic Electric Roller Blind Kit Intelli-Blinds Basic Roller Kit is a perfect solution to DIY your own electric roller blinds. All our kits are easily adjusted to your window width and include everything to get you going. Please note: The Basic kit does not include any electronics or controls, therefore you will need understanding of switching and control methods for low voltage DC motors or use of 3rd party controls designed to operate low voltage DC motors. Whats Included The kit includes all you need to convert an existing or make a new roller blind motorised: Intelli-Blinds 28mm motor, Intelli-Blinds PT-24 power supply, 29mm extruded aluminium tube, end pin and brackets, bottom rail and full instructions.

Because our basic kits do not include controls this allows you to directly connect and control them from your own or compatible home or building automation system. Most automation systems have options for relay outputs to allow the control of motors. You will need to connect the PSU and Motor to a suitable relay setup, this could be directly onto KNX blind control actuators, Crestron, Lutron, Rako etc volt-free relay outputs or maybe your own DIY project using Microcontrollers etc. The motor is simply controlled by changing the polarity of the 24V DC supplied by the PSU. In technical terms the switch or relay arrangement you need would be a 'Double Pole, Double Throw Changeover'.

Fabrics If you require fabric covers for your roller we can offer three basic fabric options when ordering your kits. This high quality German made Trevira fabric available in mid-grey & beige blackout or beige. This is supplied as a 2000mm wide by 2200mm pre-squared roll separate from the kit, it will need to be cut down on one side to your desired width and mounted to the roller tube. The tube is supplied mounted with double-sided tape to facilitate this.

Installation The roller tube can be cut to size with just a junior hacksaw to make a blind from 500mm to 2000mm wide. Note that depending on the location of your nearest power socket & placement of the your relays you may need to purchase additional cable. Custom Made Size We can manufacture your kits to a custom size if you do not feel confident to cut down the roller tube or cut the fabric to size we can do it for you. We will cut the roller tube and fabric to size, mount onto the roller and fully test the blind. The measurement shown below in the ordering section allows you to choose a width between 500 and 2000mm. This is the final complete blind width in millimeters including the brackets. To work out what size you'll need for your window simply measure the reveal and take off 5mm and select the nearest size. So for example if your window reveal is 1342mm wide you should select the 1335 size. Typically a finished blind is around 5-15mm less than the reveal. Note to take into account any obstruction in the window eg skirting boards, dado rails etc. You should also check measure the window at the top and bottom as window reveals are rarely square, if your window does taper then you should use the smaller of the sizes. If you also choose to order optional fabric, it will also be cut to the appropriate size and mounted onto the tube for you.
